Simon was adopted from the Loudoun County Animal Shelter. He was brought to the shelter when he was found running around outside after someone had decided to set their pet rabbit free in the wild.

Miguel was adopted from the Loudoun County Animal Shelter and Diego was brought to us when he was dumped at a local feed store. Elisia was donated Chinchillas are the softest mammal in the entire animal kingdom. Because they are nocturnal and energetic they can be tough pets.

Miquel and Diego are native to the Andes mountains of South America.

 

Paco was born in captivity and came to our program 12 years ago. He visited many schools, libraries and special events but is now retired and relaxing at Wildlife Ambassadors. Coatimundis are cousins to the kinkajou, raccoon, ringtailed cat and red panda.

Paco is native to the southwestern United States, Central and South America.

Ms. Tiggy and Nelson were donated. These small insectivores are not related to porcupines even though they have quills. Hedgehogs eat insects, lizards and mice.

Ms. Tiggy and Nelson are native to the African Savannah.

Mabel was the sole survivor when a car killed her mom and siblings. She is only 3 months old and is being raised her and is already a very popular ambassador with children and adults.

Mabel is native to North, Central and South America.

These two sisters came to us as young kits from another wildlife program. They were born in captivity and quite tame. Fennec Foxes are the smallest wild canines in the world weighing only 3 pounds.

Kelly & Sophie are native to the deserts of Northern Africa.

Brewster is a sable ferret and Chester is a cream ferret
These two boys came to us from the Loudoun County Animal Shelter where they had been surrendered by their owner. Ferrets are very playful, social animals that are relatives to the weasel, mink, otter and badger. These are domestic animals and are not able to survive in the wild.

Autumn came to us from a wildlife rehabilitator. She suffers from a disability where she will not grow any larger and has trouble finding her own food and staying warm. She would have died in the wild. She has a super sweet nature and is so popular with the kids.
